Orlando Science Center Review

Gatorland

Location

14501 S Orange Blossom Trl, Orlando, FL 32837

Key Points

  • Alligators
  • Crocodiles
  • Big Cats
  • Birds
  • Petting Zoo
  • Adventures
  • Food

Why We Like It

Although the Gators are the main attraction, there is a lot more to do here than look at a few alligators.

Young kids will love the petting zoo and the shows like Legends of The Swamp or Up Close Encounters. Bigger kids can take a ride on one of the zip-lines or even splurge on an off road Stompin Gator adventure.

Tip

Allow yourself at least 3 hours to take the park in and be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

In The Game

Location

8351 International Dr #100, Orlando, FL 32819

Key Points

  • Arcade Games
  • Mirror Maze
  • Escape Room
  • Virtual Reality Games

Why We Like It

In The Games is located within Icon Park, which is also worth the visit.

This is more of an arcade for smaller kids with a concentration on ticket earning machines. And what do tickets mean? Prizes of course. Kids love prizes, even if it means playing for a half an hour to win a pencil eraser. In all honesty though, you buy points to play games here and they tend to last a good time. That gives you plenty of opportunity to earn a lot of tickets, for some surprisingly good prizes.

Tip

After you tire the kids out on the video games, skip the food at In The Games and look for kid friendly restaurants in Icon Park while you sight see.

Andretti Indoor Karting

Location

Key Points

  • Mini Mario Karts Available (5 & Up)
  • Arcade
  • Ropes Course
  • Virtual Reality Games
  • Laser Tag
  • Bowling

Why We Like It

You could plan a trip here for the Mini Mario Karts alone. It is hard to find karts that will allow the little ones to drive without an adult really in control. The only requirement is that your kid must be taller than 36 inches and weigh less than 90 pounds.

After doing some karting, play some games, hit the ropes course or just grab a bite to eat. If you choose to dine, you will find the food to be top notch and hand made. It is a diverse menu with everything from Nachos to Farm Raised Salmon.

Tip

Be sure to wear flat shoes with covered toes.

  • Arcade
  • Bumper Bowling Available
  • Lane-side Food Service

Why We Like It

Because it’s bowling. Bowling has always been one of the best Orlando kid friendly activities, but this AMF location takes it up a notch. The neon lanes make the game a bit more fun ans they really have greatly improved the food quality. This is not your standard bowling alley eats.

Besides bowling, your kids will also love the stocked arcade while parents might enjoy a game of pool.

If you decide to go to AMF, keep in mind that there may be age restrictions late at night. Go in the afternoon or early evening with smaller kids.

Tip

If you have small ones, be sure to ask about bumper bowling.
