Activities For Teens In Orlando

If you have teens in Orlando, you should not have many issues finding something something to entertain them. There is no lack of things to do in Orlando for teens, your only problem will be whittling down the list.

Best Things To Do For Teenagers

Here are some of the activities for teens that we feel should be at the top of your list.

Go Four Wheeling At Revolution Adventures

Four Wheeling in Orlando.

Location

4000 FL-33, Clermont, FL 34714

Key Points

  • Guided ATV tours.
  • Amphibious vehicle rides.
  • Archery tag.
  • Fishing adventures

Why We Like It

Although they offer a lot of activities, we feel that your teen will love the guided four wheeler tours the most. No matter what their level of experience, the folks at Revolution Adventures have them covered. If four wheelers are not their thing, they also offer buggy rides and a ride in what they call the “Mucky Duck”, an 8 wheeled amphibious vehicle.

The terrain you ride on will vary with the Florida weather. It could be anything from dry sand to muddy bogs. You really do not know what you are going to get in Florida. Keep in mind that reservations are required so call (352) 400-1322 to make a reservation before you head out.

Tips

Summer is the rainy season in Florida. Most rains are in the afternoon, so early morning tours would be recommended.

Dress comfortably and bring a change of clothes for the ride home.

Gokarts At Andretti Indoor Karting

Teenagers riding gokarts in Orlando FL.

Location

9299 Universal Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819

Key Points

  • Racing in air conditioned comfort.
  • Arcade complete with virtual reality games.
  • Bowling alley.
  • On site restaurant with a bar for the parents.

Why We Like It

There is something for everyone at Andretti Indoor Karting. The key attraction is obviously going to be the indoor race track. You can race your heart away on the indoor track while avoiding the Orlando heat and humidity. The karts are also electric which means that you won’t go home smelling like you have been pumping gas all day.

If your teen gets tired of the karts, they can head to the fully stocked arcade, play laser tag or even bowl a few frames. Wrap it all up with a meal at the on site restaurant. You will find everything you and your teenager needs here and can actually get lost in the place.

Tip

If you plan to kart, make sure to wear covered shoes without heels.

Fly High Over Gatorland

Location

14501 S Orange Blossom Trl, Orlando, FL 32837

Key Points

  • Get up close and personal with gators.
  • Zipline adventures.
  • Offroad tours.

Why We Like It

Teenagers can get a little skeptical about tourist attractions that they might see as little more than a petting zoo, but Gatorland is much more than that. Sure, you have the typical shows and “touch a gator” type attractions but teenagers are big enough to do a lot more.

High on the list should be the zipline adventures that will fly your teen directly over live gators. It will make even the most surly of teens smile, or maybe scream. Besides the ziplines, you also have the off road tours. These are essentially swamp tours aboard a monster truck. It is hard not to find the joy in that.

Tip

Ticket to ride the ziplines and the swamp tour are extra but well worth the cost.

Gaming At Main Event

Location

9101 International Dr Suite 1032, Orlando, FL 32819

Key Points

  • Offers a little bit of everything.
  • Full arcade with virtual reality.
  • Challenging rock climbing wall.

Why We Like It

The words teenager and gaming just go together. If you want to take your teen someplace they will love, an arcade stocked with the latest in virtual reality gaming is not a bad choice.

Main Event is not just an arcade though. They also have bowling lanes, laser tag and a rock climbing wall that is sure to be a hit. Food is pretty typical for this type of a venue but it is not bad. Teenagers are not usually too picky about what they eat anyway.

Tip

Bring hand sanitizer, it is an arcade after all.

Ride The Big Rides At Icon Park

The Icon Wheel & Starflyer, great rides for teens.

Location

8375 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819

Key Points

  • The Starflyer is 450 feet in height and hits speeds up to 45 MPH.
  • The Wheel is a 400 foot tall ferris wheel and an iconic attraction.

Why We Like It

Probably not the best choice for the squeamish, but for the average thrill seeking teenager, either of these attractions will be a big hit. If they just want the view, The Wheel is the way to go. It even has stability control and all of the cars are full air conditioned. It is a smooth and comfortable way to take in the city, as long as you are good with the heights.

Should a bit more excitement be the thing, the Starflyer would be the choice. Feel the wind in your face as you take in the sights traveling at nearly 45 miles per hour.

If you are only going to be in Orlando a short time though, why not hit both of these rides.

Tips

If money is an issue, the Starflyer is less than half the cost of The Wheel.

Disney Springs, a place where teens love to run around.

Location

1486 Buena Vista Dr, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Key Points

  • Disney Springs is free to park and enter.
  • Free live music most nights.
  • Plenty of restaurant and shopping options

Why We Like It

What your teenagers want in Orlando, and anywhere really, is a bit of freedom. At Disney Springs, you can give them just that. Give them a little spending money and let them run around. Being a Disney property, you know that security is top notch.

While the teens are away, having a great time, Mom and Dad can do their own thing.
