Disney Springs

Why We Like It

It is not only a splash pad, but also a way to take in a little bit of Disney for free. Yes, believe it or not, there is something free to do at Disney. Entry to Disney Springs and even parking is free. Access is even relatively pain free with good traffic control. Disney knows how to handle a crowd.

There are two splash pads at Disney Springs.

One is located near the Earl of Sandwich restaurant. Just park in the Orange parking garage and head towards the Rainforest Cafe. This is the main water splash pad so it will be the largest and likely the most fun for your kids.

The lesser known and also smaller splash pad is located behind the Days of Christmas store.

Tip

Whichever pad you choose, be sure to bring a change of clothing.


Center Lake Park

Why We Like It

Center Lake Park is a very well maintained park in Oviedo FL. For those of you who don’t know, Oviedo is just east of Orlando near the University of Central Florida.

This is a great little free splash pad near Orlando, with plenty of extra amenities. There is also an AstroTurf play area and a covered playground nearby. After the kids get their energy out, they can even recharge with a treat from the nearby cantina that sells ice cream, snow cones and assorted treats.

If you want to make a day of it, take a walk around the lake or catch a meal at one of the many fast casual restaurants in the area.

Tip

The splash pad is on a timer. If you arrive and it is off, press the button on the lower left side of the sign.


Winter Garden Interactive Fountain & Splash Pad

Why We Like It

This is a nice, well maintained free splash pad in the wonderful city of Winter Garden. Winter Garden is located west of Orlando, north of the action at Disney.

You will find plenty of seating and shade, and there is even a public restroom across the street. The water jets are illuminated at night, but the park does close at 9PM.

Tip

Be sure to check out the Central Florida Railroad Museum while you are in Downtown Winter Garden. It is not a huge museum by any means, but it is free.


Reiter Park Splash Pad

Why We Like It

The Reiter Park Splash Pad is a free pad located in Longwood, just north of Orlando. Like every great splash pad, it offers a number of amenities beyond water that can help you make the most of your visit. Besides the water, you will find walking paths, a garden, green space to run, a playground and clean public restrooms. There is also a farmers market held every Sunday.

Be aware that dogs are not allowed at the park, which is a good thing if you don’t want to worry about stepping in a mess. The splash pad also closes at 6PM every night.

Tip

Every second Thursday is food truck day, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Enjoy the pad and then fill up your tank.

Capehart Park

Why We Like It

Nice little splash pad that is fenced in. This one is a bit more suited for small children but big kids should get some enjoyment out of it as well. There are also 2 playgrounds to enjoy and public restrooms available.

Tip

Nearby pavilions can be rented for special events.


Trotwood Park

Why We Like It

This is a larger neighborhood park located in the city of Winter Springs, northeast of Orlando. It has a great little water park, but that is not the only attraction. It also has a very nice playground, pavillion and even a fishing pier. Parents will find plenty of shade to keep them cool while their kids play.

Tip

Bring a picnic lunch. There are no restaurants in walking distance but there is plenty of shade and tables to eat at the park.
